NV Comfort™

The world’s most intelligent window automation system, now available in Australasia!

NV Comfort™ is a cost effective indoor climate solution for small and medium sized buildings such as offices, schools, universities, libraries and health care facilities, fire and ambulance stations, hotels, aged care, retail stores and shopping precincts. In fact any facility with windows looking to reduce carbon emissions and improve user comfort and health, or ensure a safe smoke and fire control environment. Large multi storey high rise facilities can also use the NV ComfortTM system. Control units for facilities are either located in the basement in one spot or can be located on every floor or second floor subject to the number of zones being controlled and clients control requirements.

The NV ComfortTM system is based around fifteen years of research and application carried out across northern and southern Europe and comes from an initial desire to provide natural ventilation as the key comfort cooling and indoor air quality system, hence the way WindowMaster controls windows and indoor environments is unmatched by any other window actuator or manufacturer. It is this knowledge of natural ventilation control parameters and user requirements and how it can provide comfort cooling and improved air quality either as its own system or combined with air conditioning system (the hybrid solution becoming popular here) that distances WindowMaster from other window control mechanisms.

NV Comfort ensures facade and roof windows automatically open and close by incremental amounts according to individual fixed values for the desired room temperature, humidity and CO2 level. Measurements of external temperature, rain and wind speed together with the actual levels of room temperature, relative humidity and CO2 are the basis for controlling the indoor climate.

The indoor climate is regulated by sensors that measure the air quality in the room. When there is a need for fresh air, the automated windows will open automatically. Rain, air temperature and wind sensors fitted outside the building make sure that windows will close in case of rain or strong wind. The NV Comfort System will strive to always maintain the indoor comfort conditions set by the user and when it is unable to maintain those systems it will switch on/off the air conditioning or open/close the blinds, turn lighting off/on as required or control the numerous other functions available subject to building type or facility inclusions.

The heart of the NV ComfortTM solution is a specific natural ventilation touch screen from which up to 8 zones can be operated individually.  The setting of the desired room temperature and C02 levels can be done individually for each room from one central location in the building via the touch screen feature. NV Comfort ensures that the windows are controlled precisely millimetre by millimetre, through the patented Motorlink™technology. This means that the system always knows how open the windows are without any separate coordination modules (adding cost and labour to the overall solution and still not proving the unique control details offered by our systems) and that they open and close almost silently. The windows will also stop and open again if they meet an obstacle during the closing cycle. All the operational parameters around the window function are changeable and programmable using our unique portable control unit.

As the NV Comfort solution is based on the KNX standard, it is cost effective and simple to install and can be extended to offer a huge range of build control and interface capability.

In addition our NV Comfort system also control blinds and shades, air conditioning systems, lighting ,our SunpipeTM daylighting systems, Vento’s  WindcatchersTM and Air PearsTM and items such as boilers or ceiling fans, hydronic heating/cooling systems and facility occupancy control.

In fact in can often be a cheaper replacement for a Building Management System while providing unmatched control of the natural ventilation aspect of the building, often a major control issue and source of problems for a BMS.

The NV ComfortTM system offers the ability to remote control and data log the whole system under its control (as long as an Ethernet point is available near the control unit). This offers a huge range of added value and flexibility and means the user can manipulate the system form anywhere in the world and Vento can also remote monitor as required to maximise performance and check on any issues that may occur. The unique control screen (which has a massive range of programming and control available including operational functions such as time of use to occupancy parameters to changing the operational language) has also been designed to ensure user friendliness based on over 15 years of research on natural ventilation and user control requirements and preferences undertaken by WindowMaster and a range of Universities across Europe.
